Karraine Kennels came into existence in 1960 when Pat, then a high school student, purchased her first Shepherd. Following closely was the addition of a second Shepherd, and by 1964, the first Karraine litter made its debut. Her commitment to the breed remained undeterred throughout her University years and subsequent teaching career. By the 1970s, Pat and her mother cohabited with approximately 19 adult Shepherds, most of whom held both their Aust Ch. title and at least a CD title.
